About This Scheme

Comprehensive child protection services including shelters, adoption support and care for children in need.

The Integrated Child Protection Scheme provides structure, systems and support for institutional care, community based care, emergency outreach and rehabilitation of children in need of care and protection and children in conflict with law. It supports Child Protection Units at district level, Child Welfare Committees, homes for children, open shelters, foster care, adoption services and helpline 1098 in coordination with NCPCR and state child protection societies.

Eligibility

Children in need of care and protection, orphans, abandoned and surrendered children, victims of abuse, trafficking or disaster, and children in conflict with law.

Who Can Apply

Children through guardians, CWC or police, and registered child care institutions seeking support under the scheme.

Who Cannot Apply

Adults above 18 years, unregistered child care institutions not complying with the Juvenile Justice Act norms.

Application Process

Referrals through Childline 1098, police, Child Welfare Committee or District Child Protection Unit. Institutions are supported through the State or UT Child Protection Society.
