About This Scheme

Empowerment centres providing rural women with digital literacy, skill training and access to government schemes.

Mahila Shakti Kendra is a scheme of the Ministry of Women and Child Development implemented through college student volunteers to empower rural women. It provides access to government schemes, digital literacy, employment and skill development opportunities and information on women related rights at village level through student volunteers and block level centres. The scheme also supports One Stop Centres and Women Helplines.

Eligibility

Rural women aged 15 years and above, particularly from deprived and vulnerable communities.

Who Can Apply

Women residing in rural areas who need guidance for government schemes, skill training or employment support.

Who Cannot Apply

Women already receiving equivalent employment support under another central scheme for the same activity.

Application Process

Approach the nearest Mahila Shakti Kendra at block or college level or the district women and child development office. Volunteers assist with registration and linkages.
