About This Scheme

Integrated support centre for women affected by violence offering rescue, legal, medical and counselling aid.

One Stop Centre, also known as Sakhi, is a scheme of the Ministry of Women and Child Development providing integrated assistance to women affected by violence including physical, sexual, emotional and economic abuse and harassment. The centres set up at district level offer police assistance, medical aid, legal counselling, temporary shelter, psycho social support and linkage with other schemes. Any woman facing violence can walk in or be referred by any agency.

Eligibility

Any woman or girl child affected by violence irrespective of age, class, caste, religion, marital status or economic background.

Who Can Apply

Women and girl children who are victims of domestic violence, sexual assault, trafficking, acid attack, dowry harassment or any other form of violence.

Who Cannot Apply

Male applicants seeking assistance for themselves under this scheme, since the centre supports women affected by violence.

Application Process

Walk in to the nearest One Stop Centre or call the Women Helpline 181. The centre coordinator coordinates police, medical and legal support immediately.
