About This Scheme

Flagship programme providing nutrition, immunisation, pre school education and health to children under 6 and mothers.

Integrated Child Development Services (ICDS) is one of the largest programmes for early childhood care and development, implemented through Anganwadi Centres. It provides supplementary nutrition, immunisation, health check ups, referral services, pre school non formal education and nutrition and health education to children below 6 years, pregnant women and nursing mothers. Services are delivered by Anganwadi Workers and Helpers at the community level.

Eligibility

Children below 6 years of age, pregnant women and lactating mothers, including adolescent girls up to 18 years in need of nutrition support.

Who Can Apply

All children below 6 years and mothers who are residents of the area covered by an Anganwadi Centre.

Who Cannot Apply

Children above 6 years of age who are covered under school meal programmes, persons not residing in the service area.

Application Process

Register at the nearest Anganwadi Centre in the locality. The Anganwadi Worker enrols the child or mother and provides services as per schedule.
