Vishwakarma Shram Samman Yojana 2.0 (Toolkit/Margin Money Scheme)

Provides free skill training, a toolkit worth ₹ 15,000 and margin money subsidy on bank loans to traditional artisans and craftsmen of the Vishwakarma community in Uttar Pradesh.

The Vishwakarma Shram Samman Yojana 2.0 (Toolkit/Margin Money Scheme) is a welfare-cum-credit initiative of the Uttar Pradesh Government for traditional artisans and craftsmen of the Vishwakarma community such as carpenters, blacksmiths, goldsmiths, potters, cobblers, tailors, masons, bamboo and cane workers and sculptors. Under the scheme eligible artisans receive free short-term skill training with certification, a toolkit worth ₹ 15,000 to set up or upgrade their workshop, and a margin money subsidy on bank loans taken for purchasing modern tools and machinery. The scheme is implemented through the District Industries Centres and the ODOP cell in convergence with skill development programmes so that artisans can improve quality, adopt modern tools and access wider markets. Artisans are identified through e-Shram and skill registration drives conducted at block and district level. The objective is to preserve traditional trades while improving the income and dignity of Vishwakarma artisans.
