About This Scheme

Collateral-free micro business loans of up to ₹ 20 lakh for non-farm income-generating micro enterprises in Uttar Pradesh under the Pradhan Mantri MUDRA Yojana, delivered through banks with state handholding.

The MUDRA Loan under the Pradhan Mantri MUDRA Yojana provides affordable and collateral-free credit to non-corporate, non-farm micro enterprises in Uttar Pradesh engaged in manufacturing, trading, services and allied agricultural activities. Loans are extended in three categories: Shishu up to ₹ 50,000 for units in the infancy stage, Kishore from ₹ 50,001 to ₹ 5 lakh for units that are yet to become established, and Tarun above ₹ 5 lakh up to ₹ 10 lakh for well-performing units, with the Tarun Plus category extending up to ₹ 20 lakh for satisfactory repayment track records. No collateral or security is required for loans up to ₹ 10 lakh and the interest rate is competitive and linked to the credit profile of the borrower. In Uttar Pradesh the scheme is implemented through scheduled commercial banks, regional rural banks, cooperative banks, NBFCs and micro finance institutions, with the MSME Department and District Industries Centres providing awareness, handholding and loan facilitation via the Nivesh Mitra portal. The loans help micro entrepreneurs start and expand small shops, salons, repair units, food carts, tailoring units, boutiques, transport vehicles and village industries.
