About This Scheme

Odisha Women Empowerment Scheme empowers women and girls of Odisha through financial assistance, education and livelihood support.

Odisha Women Empowerment Scheme is a women empowerment scheme of the Government of Odisha implemented by the Women and Child Development Department. It provides financial assistance, marriage and education support, self-employment loans, skill training and support to self help groups for women and girls of the state. The objective of the scheme is to improve the economic and social status of women by ensuring regular income support, access to credit and greater participation in livelihood activities. Benefits are transferred directly to the bank account of the beneficiary through Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT).

Direct financial assistance, marriage and education support for girls, interest free loans and skill training for women, support to self help groups and access to state welfare and health programmes.

Eligibility

Women and girls domiciled in Odisha as per the norms of the scheme, including married, widowed, divorced and deserted women, girl students and members of self help groups belonging to BPL and economically weaker families.

Who Can Apply

Girls and women of Odisha from BPL and economically weaker families, students, self help group members and women entrepreneurs.

Who Cannot Apply

Families with annual income above the notified limit, applicants who have already received a similar benefit, government employees and income tax payees.

Application Process

1. Apply online on the official Odisha women welfare portal or submit the application at the Anganwadi centre or District Women and Child Development Office. 2. Attach self-attested copies of Aadhaar Card, Residence Proof, Income Certificate, Bank Passbook, Caste Certificate (if applicable), Birth Certificate (for girls) and Passport Photo. 3. The Anganwadi worker or field verifier verifies the details of the applicant. 4. On approval the benefit is sanctioned and transferred directly to the bank account of the beneficiary through Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT). 5. Applicants can check the status of their application on the state women welfare portal.
