About This Scheme

Intensified immunisation drive to vaccinate all children and pregnant women against vaccine preventable diseases.

Mission Indradhanush was launched by the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare to achieve full immunisation coverage of all children against eight vaccine preventable diseases including diphtheria, pertussis, tetanus, polio, tuberculosis, hepatitis B, measles and rubella. The Intensified Mission Indradhanush phases target low performing districts and hard to reach areas with fixed and mobile vaccination sessions, achieving high immunisation coverage through convergence of multiple departments.

Benefits

Free immunisation against eight vaccine preventable diseases for children and tetanus diphtheria vaccine for pregnant women, delivered through outreach and facility based sessions.

Eligibility

All children aged 0 to 2 years who are unvaccinated or partially vaccinated, and pregnant women not yet immunised against tetanus and diphtheria.

Who Can Apply

Parents of unvaccinated or partially vaccinated children and pregnant women residing in India.

Who Cannot Apply

Children already fully immunised under the Universal Immunisation Programme, and infants with documented contraindication to a specific vaccine as advised by a physician.

Application Process

Visit the nearest Anganwadi Centre, health sub centre or health facility on immunisation days. Vaccination is provided free of cost and recorded in the immunisation card.
