Indira Gandhi National Widow Pension - Maharashtra provides a monthly pension of ₹1,000 per month to widowed, divorced and destitute women of Maharashtra to support their livelihood and dignity.

Indira Gandhi National Widow Pension - Maharashtra is a social security pension scheme of the Maharashtra Government implemented by the Social Welfare Department for widowed, divorced and destitute women. Eligible beneficiaries receive ₹1,000 per month per month directly into their bank account through Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT). The scheme converges with the Indira Gandhi National Widow Pension Scheme (IGNWPS) under the National Social Assistance Programme wherever applicable and aims to reduce the financial distress of women who have lost their spouse or are living without support.

Eligibility

Widowed, divorced or destitute women aged 18 years and above (up to 79 years) with annual family income within the prescribed limit of the state. The applicant must be a resident of Maharashtra and should not be remarried.

Who Can Apply

Widowed, divorced and destitute women aged 18 to 79 years residing in Maharashtra belonging to BPL or low-income households.

Who Cannot Apply

Women already drawing any other government pension or government maintenance allowance, income tax payees, remarried women, and women with family income above the prescribed limit.

Application Process

1. Obtain the application form from the nearest Social Welfare Office, Anganwadi centre, Gram Panchayat or Common Service Centre (CSC). 2. Fill the form and attach self-attested copies of Aadhaar Card, Income Certificate, Age Proof, Bank Passbook and Passport Photo along with the death certificate of the husband or marital status proof. 3. Submit the application at the concerned office or upload it on the state social welfare portal. 4. The Field/Block Verifier verifies marital status, income and residence of the applicant. 5. On approval the pension of ₹1,000 per month is credited monthly to the beneficiary's bank account through DBT.
