About This Scheme

Himachal Pradesh Old Age Pension Scheme provides a monthly old age pension of ₹1,500 per month to senior citizens aged 60 years and above belonging to BPL and low-income households of Himachal Pradesh.

Himachal Pradesh Old Age Pension Scheme is a social security pension scheme of the Himachal Pradesh Government implemented by the Social Welfare Department. It provides a monthly pension of ₹1,500 per month to eligible senior citizens aged 60 years and above to help them meet their basic subsistence needs. The pension is credited directly into the beneficiary's bank account through Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT). Wherever applicable the scheme converges with the Indira Gandhi National Old Age Pension Scheme (IGNOAPS) under the National Social Assistance Programme. The pension is payable for life and is subject to annual verification of Aadhaar and bank account details of the beneficiary.

Benefits

Monthly pension of ₹1,500 per month credited to the beneficiary's bank account through DBT, lifelong financial assistance for senior citizens, and convergence with national social assistance and state welfare programmes.

Eligibility

Senior citizens aged 60 years and above. The applicant must be a resident of Himachal Pradesh with annual family income within the prescribed BPL or low-income limit of the state. The applicant should not be drawing any other government pension.

Who Can Apply

Destitute and low-income senior citizens aged 60 years and above residing in Himachal Pradesh who hold a bank account in their own name.

Who Cannot Apply

Government employees and pensioners drawing any other government pension, income tax payees, and senior citizens whose annual family income exceeds the prescribed limit.

Application Process

1. Obtain the application form from the nearest Social Welfare Office, Gram Panchayat, Block Development Office or Common Service Centre (CSC). 2. Fill in the form and attach self-attested copies of Aadhaar Card, Income Certificate, Age Proof, Bank Passbook and Passport Photo. 3. Submit the application at the concerned office or upload it on the state social welfare portal. 4. The Field/Block Verifier verifies age, income and residence of the applicant. 5. On approval the pension of ₹1,500 per month is credited monthly to the beneficiary's bank account through DBT.
